Saving Lives with Medicine

I am happy to announce the new collaboration between the Saving Lives With Medicine Program, MAP International, the Claxton Rotary Club and Good Health Ministries to build a brand new free and charitable faith based medical clinic in Claxton.
The mission will be to render compassionate healthcare through a Christ centered service to bring help and hope to the community.
The Clinic is well on its way with the foundation down and the crossbeams and walls raised.  We are planning a ribbon cutting ceremony in January.
If there is a free/charitable clinic in your Club's area that does not have a partnership with the Saving Lives With Medicine Program please let me know.  We save lives.

Yours in Service,
Beverly Trainor
District SLWM Chair

This program is a partnership between Rotary International District 6920 Rotary Clubs and MAP International to provide life saving medicines to indigent population living in communities served by 62 Rotary clubs in District 6920. The life saving medicines are dispensed by participating clinics.

The program's Senior Technical Adviser, Dr. Miriam Rittmeyer, past president of Skidaway Island Rotary Club coordinates clinic approval in partnership with MAP International. Participating Rotary clubs and District 6920 fund the program. The District's share of funding is paid by District Grants from DDF. District Designated Funds (DDF) are funds that come back to the district/ clubs from the contributions made to the Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund three years prior.

Launched in October 2017, the program has provided access to free medications to more than 4,900 patients across 6 clinics. A total of 28 Rotary Clubs are participating and clinic partners include:

Partnership Health Center of Valdosta
The Mercy Ministries of Lyons
Diversity Health Center of Hinesville, Ludowici, and Jesup
St. Vincent De Paul Health Center of Augusta
Coastal Community Health Services of Brunswick
Good Samaritan Clinic at St. Joseph's/ Candler of Savannah
St. Mary's Health Center of Savannah.
The program anticipates JOY Clinic in Dublin, GA to be its 7th clinic partner once fully implemented.
